Falls Church Montessori Toddler Program

Ages 12 months to 2 years

The Falls Church Montessori Toddler Program recognizes that these early months of a child’s life are among the most important – they are the foundation upon which all future learning is constructed. As such, our Toddler Program is carefully designed to meet each child’s unique developmental requirements, interests, and abilities.

Specifically, our Toddler Program focuses on supporting and advancing the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of each child. This enables our students to progress as rapidly as possible, learning to their full potential. Falls Church Montessori toddlers routinely exhibit early and consistent signs of impressive growth, particularly in regards to speech and language development.

In addition, our students display evidence of both fine and gross motor skill development, as they learn to explore both their inner and outer worlds (family, culture, environment, classroom, etc.).

Teachers implement various Montessori lessons to develop skills, abilities and traits that the student shows a readiness for. Falls Church Montessori toddlers will work with Montessori materials designed to enhance student’s sensory recognition, concentration, coordination, language skills, responsibility and respect.

Separate for the core curriculum itself, is the matter of class dynamics, construction, and routine. All of these are elements that are consistent across the breadth of FCM’s elder aged programs. With the typical Falls Church Montessori student remaining enrolled for nearly 6 years, this foundational familiarity is key. When a child only knows the Montessori system, there is nothing to learn or become adjusted to. The students simply become more advanced and mature, likewise, their surroundings do the same. This is the master principle behind our unrivalled student success, growth, and advancement.
